Work has been slow on the new album.
Mainly just not being worried about time constraints, and trying to get
the right feel, and arrangements. MJN has also been writing newer stuff,
that has been taking the place of 'weaker' material...'weaker'
material?!! come on dude, already!! Finish up!! HAHA. Anyway, thanks for
the patience, We think it'll be worth the wait.
It was announced Dec.6th that "The
La Louisianne Sessions" disc MJN helped cut while with Roddie
Romero and The Hub City AllStars, was nominated in the new
Cajun/ Zydeco catagory, for a Grammy! This is MJN's, as well as
the rest of the HCAS's 1st Grammy Nomination.
CONGRATULATIONS to everyone.
Mark Guillory has recorded some video of a
couple of MJN's live performances. Check it out on

Thanks Mark. You da Best...
In February of
2007, a new disc from
Martha Scanlan will be
released entitled ‘The West Was Burning’. Martha is a singer/songwriter
formerly of the group ‘The Reeltime Travelers’ (best known for their
work on the ‘Cold Mountain’ soundtrack). It’s a beautiful disc of roots,
old time music, and great songwriting. Produced by Dirk Powell, it
features some fantastic Dobro work from Michael Juan, as well as
other really cool musicians like
Levon Helm (The Band) on drums,
Gina Forsyth on fiddle,
Dirk Powell on several
instruments, and many other great cats. Check it out!
